The Dunraven School in South West London likes to pride itself on inspiring, developing and shaping its students for the future.
Part of this was building a durable and sustainable sports hall; it was commissioned by the London Borough of Lambeth and funded by the ‘Building Schools for the Future’ scheme.
The hall is made from recycled shipping containers, offering a fun, and innovative place which is used as a four court sports hall, viewing gallery, and office space for students and staff alike.
As part of this we supplied the school with ‘one-off’ changing room benches.
To ensure that these seamlessly integrated with the facilities we worked closely with the architects and designers to overcome and issues that could arise with such a unique space.
The hall was awarded ‘Best Small Building Project’ at the Building Industry Construction Awards back in 2009 and you can find out more about the project by visiting the container city website.
